History

Founded in 1973 Apollo Sheet Metal specialised in producing replacement automotive panels.

1975:Colin Phillips was appointed works manager bringing with him a wealth of knowledge as a sheet metal worker in the manufacture of machine guards & fabrications.

1977: Colin became a partner in the firm & Apollo moved premises to Longford.

1978: With the collapse of Alfred Herbert Machine Tools Apollo were left with a £28,000 debt and a considerable fall in buisness. Undeterred Colin put his house on the line and bought out his remaining partner.

1979: Within a year he had turned a company with a £20,000 overdraft into a healthy business.

1984: After helping out in school holidays for a number of years  Colin's son Conrad officially joins the company bringing the total shopfloor workforce up to 10.

1988: Now with a workforce of 12 on the shopfloor Apollo moved to bigger premises in nearby Bayton Road.

1994: After serving over 10 years on the factory floor Conrad moves into the office

1995: With a total workforce of 18 they move again into their current premises 20 Bayton Road.

2000: Apollo take over control of F.A.P Sales a well established & highly  regarded specialist TIG Welding Company.
  
2005: Andrew Wilson is appointed Production Manager bringing with him a wealth of knowledge in laser cutting & development of sheet metal components etc.
  
2006: Now with the expertise of Andrew, Apollo invest in a Laser cutting machine allowing quicker turnaround times, improved control of quality & greater scope for the future.
  
2007: Apollo Sheet Metal & FAP Sales become Apollo Coventry Ltd.
  
2008: Lunar Enginering is formed. Now with the expertise & experience of Stuart Smith we can produce almost anything in house which leads to greater flexability and quicker lead times.
 
2010: Continued investment sees the instalation of an additional CNC milling machine increasing capabilitiy with faster lead times.

After the early setbacks Apollo have steadily grown from strength to strength Colin & Conrad have continued to develop and increase Apollo & Lunar's  capabilities to become the successful business they are today.
